We’re very pleased to welcome back musicians from the orchestra of Opera North back to the Live at Lunch stage for the first time since 2019. Their programme features three colourful works from the first decades of the 20th Century.

Two of the pieces were actually written for the unusual line-up of flute, viola and harp. British composer Arnold Bax’s Elegiac trio was written around the same time as Debussy’s Trio Sonata, and each has an expressive, lyrical character. Ravel’s earlier Sonatine was originally written for solo piano, and sets the lyrical theme of the recital.

Running time: 1 hour

Access to the Dress Circle foyer will be open from 12.15pm, seating is unreserved

Yarn Bar on the ground floor will also be open from 12pm
