Located in the heart of Nottingham city centre means there are many ways you can get to the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall.
The closest drop off and pick up point to our venues is the lay-by outside the main entrance of the Royal Concert Hall on South Sherwood Street (GPS nearest postcode NG1 4BY).
Parking in the lay-by is not permitted and the area is monitored by Nottingham City Council to ensure that vehicles do not utilise the area as general parking.

Temporary Road Closures for Annual Festival Sunday 19 April 2026
A number of streets in the city centre will be closed temporarily for the annual Sikh festival of Vaisakhi. The Nagar Kirtan procession (see map below) will be held on Sunday 19 April between 10am and 2pm.
The following streets will close to traffic for a short while to allow the parade to pass:
- Forest Road West - from Guru Nanak Satsang Gurdwara to Forest Road East
- Forest Road East - junction of Forest Road West to Mansfield Road
- Mapperley Road - from junction of Mansfield Road to junction of Cranmer Street
- Cranmer Street - from junction of Mapperley Road to junction of Villa Road
- Villa Road – whole length
- Mansfield Road - from junction of Villa Road to junction of Gregory Boulevard
- Gregory Boulevard - crossing over from Mansfield Road to Sherwood Rise
- Sherwood Rise - from junction of Gregory Boulevard to junction of Nottingham Road
- Nottingham Road - from junction of Sherwood Rise to junction of Northgate
- North Gate – whole length
- Radford Road - from junction of Northgate to junction of Church Street
- Western Boulevard - crossing over from Radford Road to Church Street
- Church Street - from junction of Western Boulevard to junction of Alpine Street
- Alpine Street - from junction of Church Street to junction of Percy Street
- Percy Street - from junction of Alpine Street to Gurdwara Ramgarhia Sabha Car Park

Accessibility
Parking spaces for Blue Badge holders are located on Burton Street at the rear of the Royal Concert Hall (GPS nearest postcode NG1 4BU) and on Wollaton Street near the Royal Centre tram stop (GPS nearest postcode NG1 5FW).
The Royal Centre tram stop is located approximately 50 metres from the main entrance of the Theatre Royal and 150 metres from the main entrance of the Royal Concert Hall.
The trams all have low floors with no steps to negotiate and designated wheelchair spaces and priority seats on every tram. Discounts/free travel may be permitted for those carrying concessionary cards – please check with NET for further details.
Public Transport
Both the Hucknall-Toton Lane and the Phoenix Park-Clifton South tram routes run past our venues dropping you off right at the door (look for the Royal Centre tram stop).

Nottingham Station is a 15-minute walk or a 10-minute taxi ride from our venues. Alternatively you can catch the tram from Station Street to the Royal Centre tram stop which is a 10 minute journey.

Crowne Plaza car park located on Wollaton Street, is a 600 space car park adjacent to the hotel and is a 2 minute walk from our venues (postcode NG1 5RH). Prices start from £5 for two hours.

Q-Park is just a 3-minute walk from our venues, with entry via Chaucer Street (NG1 5LP) or Talbot Street (NG1 5GG). Enjoy 8 hours of parking from £7 when you pre-book online. There's no set start time but spaces subject to availability and pre-booking does not guarantee a reserved bay. You must pre-book your Q-Park ticket to access the discounted rate.

Located on Huntington street, Victoria Centre is a convenient option for parking to see a show at our venues. Approximately a 5 minute walk to our venues. Parking from 5pm to 6am is £5.50 with day rates available.
