Work Experience

Our work experience programme is immensely popular and has been running successfully for many years. Each one-week placement is designed to give you an insight into the business side of theatre, focusing mainly on Front of House, Box Office, Education, Classical Music and Marketing for both the Theatre Royal and the Royal Concert Hall.

As a work experience student, you will be given a project to complete by the end of your placement, to choose a show and research different aspects of production such as set design, lighting, marketing and press.

You will have the opportunity to spend time in different departments of both venues, finding out information to help complete your project. Our staff will be more than happy to answer any questions you have to aid your research.

Our placements are aimed towards Year 10 & 11 students who show a genuine interest in theatre and the performing arts.

We do occasionally take A-Level and university students who are studying an arts or theatre-related subject.

As a touring theatre we do not have in-house wardrobe, make-up or set design departments, therefore we are unable to offer work experience in these areas.
